Old Clothes | New Life : Radical Redesign with Olga Singh

  • Remade in Brooklyn 663 Driggs Avenue Brooklyn NY 11211 (map)

This special workshop will explore the practice of radically rethinking our old clothes.

Designer Olga Singh envisions a new way of dressing that does not require the extraction of new raw materials or contribute to rapidly accumulating chemical waste in our ecosystem. Her brand reclaims and redesigns old clothing into remarkable new creations.

We start with a garment you’ve selected from your wardrobe and discuss ideas for a collaborative redesign (No old clothes? No worries, we’ll have some samples for you to use too).

Next we alter the garment by removing unnecessary elements and rearranging them. We finish the raw edges together and you have your newly remade design by the end of the workshop! (More complex designs may need to be left after the workshop to be picked up within a few days).

This is the concept of 0.5 Olga Singh: your clothes (0.5) + redesign (0.5) = our result (1).
